International Cooperation/Agreements

The Center for Advanced Materials has a number of international cooperative programs including:

  • Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology
    • Cooperation in the development of resistive memory for the microelectronics arena
    • Ignatiev has been appointed a World Class University Professor at GIST and has a laboratory , two graduate students and a postdoctoral at GIST.
    • A signed agreement is in place
  • Russian Academy of Sciences - Semiconductor Institute
    • Cooperation on the utilization of the International Space Station for research into advanced thin film materials made in the ultra-vacuum of space.
    • Researcher exchange with the Russian Academy of Sciences
    • A Memorandum of Understanding is in place.
  • Physical Technical Institute of Kazakhstan
    • Cooperation on the development of alternative energies for the future
    • A Memorandum of Understanding in place for the development of fuel cells
  • Al-Farabi Kazakh University
    • Agreement with the Institute of Thermal Physics on the advancement of nanotechnology for energy.
    • Student exchange is underway with first graduate students expected summer of 2011
  • East China University of Science and Technology
    • Collaborate in the areas of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering and Management through signed MOU.
  • National Tsing Hua University (Hsinchu), Tsinghua University (Beijing) and Delta Electronics Inc. (Taipei)
    • Cooperate on ‘Green Energy’ - MOU in process
  • University of Chedick NDiop of Dakar
    • Exchange of PhD graduate Students- MOU signed
  • Chimie Paris Tech
    • Hosting final year (master level) Graduate Student internships - MOU signed
  • Polytechnique Paris Tech
    • Hosting 4th year graduate student internship
  • IRDEP - CNRS France and Electricite de France
    • Next generation photovoltaic devices - tri-lateral Intellectual property agreement between UH-EdF and CNRS in place
